Mission
Loop & Cluster, Inc. is a Brooklyn-based nonprofit that builds community around the making of art.
We give artists studio space and time to work, and we bring artists and curators together to develop exhibitions collaboratively — each learning from the other's practice.
We open our doors to the public through classes and workshops taught by the artists themselves.
Our programs are designed so that artists, curators, and neighbors are not separate audiences but participants in the same community.
History
Loop & Cluster's programming began informally at Brooklyn Art Cluster, a creative campus in Gowanus founded in 2015 by two artists. What started as studio visits, group critiques, and exhibitions among the building's members grew into something the founders wanted to open outward — to artists who needed studio time they couldn't otherwise access, and to audiences beyond the building.
In 2026, that programming was formalized as Loop & Cluster, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization governed by a board of directors operating under adopted bylaws and a written conflict of interest policy.
