OPEN CALL: INAUGURAL GROUP EXHIBITION

Loop and Cluster is pleased to announce an open call for our inaugural group exhibition, coinciding with Gowanus Open Studios 2026. As a non-profit organization supporting visual artists through studio space, residencies, mentorship, and programming, we invite visual artists to submit work for this landmark opening.

  • Opening Reception: Saturday, October 17, 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM

  • Special Event: Annual Gowanus Open Studios (Oct 17 & 18, 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM)

  • Location: Loop and Cluster Gallery, 540 President Street, Brooklyn NY 11215

KEY DATES

  • Application Deadline: September 20, 2026 (11:59 PM ET)

  • Notification Date: September 30, 2026

  • Artwork Drop-off: October 11 - 13 (12:00 PM - 5:00 PM)

  • Artwork Pick-up: October 31 - November 2 (10:00AM - 5:00PM)

ELIGIBILITY & SPECIFICATIONS

  • Visual artists (18+) working in two dimensions — painting, drawing, printmaking, photography, works on paper, and wall-based mixed media.

  • Work must not exceed 24” x 24” on any side and must arrive ready to hang.

  • All work must be hand-delivered to and collected from our Brooklyn venue on the dates above. We are not able to accept shipped work for this exhibition. Please apply only if you can deliver in person or arrange local delivery.

  • This open call is free to enter.

  • All submissions must be available for purchase. Artists must be ale to legally receive payment (Valid work authorization or tax ID required).

  • The Gallery retains a 40% commission on sales. Our share goes directly toward artist programming — studio access, residencies, and future exhibitions.

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Applications must be submitted via our online portal with the following materials:

  • Curriculum Vitae: Current CV (PDF or Word)

  • Artist Statement: 250 words maximum (PDF or Word)

  • Work Samples: Up to 3 artworks (JPG or JPEG, max 2MB per file).

  • Image List: Title, year, medium, exact dimensions and price for each image.
